Manicure Monday: All Hail The Queen

July 30, 2012

So was everyone plopped infront of their TV over the weekend watching the Olympics? I have to say.. some of those moments were definitely shockers for me! Phelps coming in fourth? Didn't really see that one coming.

This week, I'm celebrating the Olympics by donning a bit of London on my nails... with Butter London's cult favourite, All Hail The Queen.

All Hail the Queen was originally named as All Hail McQueen, celebrating the late British designer Alexander McQueen. The polish was originally released in Fall of 2010, but is now part of the permanent Butter London polish collection.

All Hail the Queen is a taupe based polish chock full of gold and silver glitter particles. It is a relatively nude shade, that I can see looking good on all different shades of skin.

What makes this polish really special though, it how it looks under sunlight. Look at those glitters shine! At two coats, the polish was completely opaque on my nails, but one coat would be enough for a sheer coat of nude colour.

All Hail The Queen is my first polish from Butter London, but definitely not my last. The application was smooth, and the formula just flowed right onto the nail. The brush, despite thin, is very flexible and spreads nicely on the nail for even application. Love the polish and I can't wait to acquire more!

Anyone have a favourite shade from Butter London to share?

  1. I was thinking of getting this, but I am not sure if it is really similar to the China Glaze Fast Track from the Hunger Games collection. We should compare one day! Nonetheless I love Butter London polishes - my first was Lilibet's Jubilee (very pretty silvery lavendar).

  8. Phelps really seems like a different person this go around at the olympics. I feel he's going through something. It's just not that same exuberance he displayed in the 2008 olympics. You know I'm a butter London newbie. hahaha I was wondering how this shade looks. It's beautiful, but would blend in to my skintone too much. Keep showing them Andrea, because at $14 a pop I will know which one is for me or not. HaHaHa Have a great week my friend!

  15. So glad to hear that you're a fan of Butter. I've been debating whther to try it but usually stick with a few colors by Essie, Opi and Chanel. I've heard wonderful things about Butter though. That color is so pretty.

  16. It is not everyone's business to write such a great post, one person in a million can write such a beautiful post and you are one of those millions. I hope that you will write more beautiful posts in life and also hope that you will keep climbing the ladder of achievement in your life, very few people do this but I have full hope from you.
