Back in March or so, Wok Box in Magrath teamed up with Groupon for a $20 deal for $10. Curious as to what the place was all about, Vince & I bought one, and visited them just a couple days ago. I hardly ever go to these Asian take out restaurants, mainly because I don't think the food will be any good.

With all the rain that we've been getting lately, I wanted to try out their Vietnamese noodle soup (pho), while Vince picked out the new Hawker Street Noodles. We ordered Pad Thai as a backup, incase we would still be hungry afterwards.

Let's just say you should stay as far as possible away from the pho. The broth was dark and murky, not to mention half of it's composition was oil! The broth was so oily, I felt like I would have stomach problems after it's consumption. One sip and your mouth is slathered in oil, it's so unappetizing! I dumped a ton of hoisin sauce and Sriracha chili sauce in it to make it taste just a little better.



The Hawker Street Noodles looked a little better, but definitely were nothing special. The dish was composed of noodles stir fried with a sweet soy sauce, calamari, shrimp and Chinese sausage.. personally, I prefer to have my fried noodles salty and not sweet. Enough said..



The pad thai on the other hand was actually really tasty! Vince wasn't a big fan, but I enjoyed the flavours in the sauce. The most dominant flavour was lemongrass, and it coated each and every al dente noodle. The vegetables were perfectly cooked, tender yet maintaining their crunch.

I can't say that Wok Box is a place that I will return to often, but if I need a quick fix, I may be back!

Believe it or not, I picked up this product back in October, at the Trick or Treat Yourself Gala. I kind of pushed it aside and didn't give it too much attention, until sometime two weeks ago when it was brought up again in my life.

The POREfessional is intended to minimize the appearance of pores, and smooth out the skin for a truly flawless look. It can be used under or over makeup, and it feels very silky when applied. I believe I bought this purely for the fact that it made my skin feel A-MA-ZING. Just kidding, kind of. I also have pretty big pores, so I also bought it for that. Believe it or not, pore size is purely genetic. There's no serums or magical potions you can put on your skin to physically make them smaller. You can make them appear smaller, but that's about it.



The product itself comes with an insert, as most Benefit products do, that explains how to use the product, and what it's meant to do. The product is a light peach toned colour, but upon application, it smooths out and appears translucent, so that it cannot be seen. It has a very nice soothing, silky texture that makes your skin feel oh-so-soft when applied to the T-Zone



My pores are definitely minimized upon application of this balm. When worn under foundation, my pores pretty much disappear and my skin looks like one smooth canvas! It's actually pretty cool. I love using this product when I'm going out or know that I will be taking lots of pics, because my skin looks great when I use it! I definitely recommend the product, but make sure to check the ingredients label when purchasing - it contains silicones that people are allergic to.

Back on July 7th, the new MAC Semi Precious collection came out, featuring tons of new mineralized eyeshadows, skinfinishes, blushes, and lots of lipcolour! The characteristic I loved most about the items in the collection was the beautiful swirl of colour in each of the eyeshadow & blush pans.

I myself am I blush addict. I find myself collecting more & more blushes in my collection each season, because I love the look of blushing cheeks :)

From the collection, I picked out two blush shades in Feeling Flush & Warmth of Coral.

Something different about these mineralize blushes though, is that they apply matte. Most mineralize blushes from MAC are usually frosty, so I love that these ones are different, and totally wearable shades to flatter many skintones!



Feeling Flush applies as a plum toned pink on the cheeks, and is quite pigmented. With one swipe of my brush, lots of colour is picked up and blends really well. Definitely apply with a light hand!



Warmth of Coral is a beautiful peach toned blush, and I am obsessed with peach blushes! Ever since picking up My Highland Honey back in December, I'm always on the hunt for more. This one is a little more subtle on the skin, but blends very well, and is buildable if you want more colour.
